General Informations
Friday June 6th - 20:00
After an epic Free Spirits last year with Gilles Peterson, Four Tet, Floating Points, Dwight Trible & lots more, J.A.W is back next June 6th for a special collaboration with Theo Parrish newborn, Wildheart Recordings.   A night fully dedicated to the label universe with a line-up curated by Sir Parrish himself - a-first-of-its-kind.   "If the Sound Signature label releases are for the body, Wildheart is for everything else." Theo’s own words to sums up Wildheart’s philosophy.   The first release has seen legendary Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen, Andrew Ashong, David Okumu & Soul singer Eska working together with the man. The second one is an epic, spiritual jazz-funk from Los Angeleno, revived by Theo & London heads Dego & Akwasi Mensah to be soon followed by producer & avid crate digger Budgie for the third release.   Theo Parrish doesn't need any big introduction. The Sound Signature boss is one of the most influential & respected producers nowadays, an incredible DJ & a major influence ever for the J.A.W Family.   Dego MrFarlane is another true music pioneer, a producer who has been shaping the UK-London sound over the last two decades with 4Hero or his many other aliases. He’s responsible for plenty of classic tunes & alongside other West London visionaries, for one of the best club nights & musical movements ever, Co-Op. Really honoured to finally have these two living legends together at J.A.W, after digging their music for so many years.   Ben “Budgie” Scholefield has been raised at the record shop institution Honest Jon’s & collaborated with Fatima or The Alchemist. With his straight vinyl Gospel set – something he got big props for from the likes of Theo or Dâm Funk - he should turn Prince Charles into a holly church!   We’ll start the night early in the courtyard with some great Soulfood & plenty of records to grab for all diggers. The outstanding work of photograph Arne Reimer made for Jazz thing Magazine on some of the greatest & somehow underrated Jazzcat legends will also cover Prince Charles' walls for the occasion.   Be sure to come early & don't forget to train your Footwork!
